Grand Lodge Scholarship Program
This committee administers the scholarship program for our Grand Lodge.
The Committee on Public Schools began its work in 1955 when then Grand Master Ronald W. Meier stated, in part, "Freemasonry has had from earliest times, a deep and abiding interest in free public education." and "It is a paramount obligation of Freemasonry to stress, by every means at its command, its devotion to the principles of free public education."
Today our purpose remains the same as this committee is charged with encouraging and promoting support for the Public Schools throughout Masonry. Our other main responsibility is to administer the Grand Lodge of Washington's Scholarship program. We encourage each Masonic Lodge to participate in a Student Recognition or Scholarship program. We evaluate the top applications submitted for competition in the annual Grand Lodge Scholarship program. We also encourage and solicit donations to the Grand Lodge Scholarship Endowment fund so we may award more of our deserving youth scholarships each year.
